Winter time at Tunkwa is fantastic. Our rustic cabins are kept toasty warm from the heat of the wood stoves, and our shower houses are fully heated and open. Our luxury log cabins have the convenience and ambiance provided by gas fireplaces.

Ice fishing can be spectacular on Tunkwa Lake and neighbouring Leighton Lake.

We have access to endless snowmobile trails catering to a full spectrum of abilities. We have rental companies that will drop off and pick up snowmobiles if you wish to rent them for your stay, please make arrangements with them prior to arriving. There is a large covered gazebo, with a BBQ in front of the ice rink. We maintain a lighted, outdoor skating rink, bring your skates! Regulation sized hockey nets and pucks are there for your use as well. There are plenty of bon-fire areas along the shores of the lake, and winter guests often see some of the best wildlife in the middle of winter, including herds of wild horses that frequently come out of the meadows around the lake..
