Tunkwa Lake  iced over Thursday morning besides a small hole in the middle where a hundred or more ducks kept it open with eagles occasionally swooping over for the hole to try to pick them off. Lots of windy weather infused 02 into the lake along with cold water since mid October sinking the weeds made for ideal conditions for ice on.

No snow on the ice and not much expected in the forecast so that’s also a plus for the fish for the start of hardwater.

Very little snow in the hills, very dry start to winter, unusual. Hunting up to 6000 feet and there is 3-4 inches up there in the shaded areas, this time of year typically you can’t get that high.
