What an incredible Long weekend up here at Tunkwa!

The weather was beyond belief, just perfect and the trout were on the feed. Lots of fish being caught and lots of happy guests!

Fish were caught by every method possible! Trolling, casting, still fishing, stripping flies, whatever, it worked.

Chironomid anglers started to see the trout to switch up and start to dial into bigger chironomids, size 14,12 and even 10’s were producing. All the usual patterns were working, but greens or ASB patterns were good, “Guns’n’Roses’ was a good producer as well. Stripping damsel patterns in the shallow was also a good presentation.

Some unsettled weather here today, making setting up a challenge, but guests are still hooking up.

The Koo kids with a couple nice ones caught chironomiding over the May Long..
