The big winds that have been hitting most of southern BC the past few days, are really doing a number on Tunkwa icing off! yesterday we saw Campers Bay here at the resort, going from being fully iced over, to wide open by the late afternoon! Overnight, the same opening extended out into the main lake past the point and to about half way down the shoreline in front of the cabins. There is also a large section of open water in Farmers Bay. At this rate, we will definitely be seeing an early ice off on Tunkwa! Stay tuned and don’t forget to check out our web cam to get an overview of the lake.
