Fish are still biting for some ice fisher’s with stories of larger fish nibbling at their offerings with a few getting hooked but coming off trying to get them up through the hole, looking like nice fish are out there in the large class but out smarting the folks trying to get them. Temps for the next 2 weeks look above normal with daytime highs of 0 and nights down to -7 to -9. There is about 8-10 inches of snow on the ice, ice is 14 inches thick and with that amount of snow on the ice cold air will not create more ice as the snow insulates the lake ice.
Looking to be an early ice off as February typically adds 10 inches of thickness to the lakes ice thickness but not this year at this time. Dust off the rods and get ready for another stillwater season!!
