April 9, 2019 – Ice off Progress

A lot more open water areas on Tunkwa today, things are happening fast. The bays are starting to open up a bit more, but the main lake is still covered, still aways to go. The winds are pushing the ice around, and its starting to pile up a bit along the shorelines. Lots of tiny chironomids have been hatching, and I ran into a bunch of clouds of them, working around the resort. I saw some fish swirl today, and one of our annual guests, fished a few minutes this afternoon, landed a small guy on a tiny micro leach, fished under an indicator, fishing from the bank.

Couple pictures from this afternoon, the bay out in front of the resort.
