Hunting pressure has been very light the last week of the season. Hunters are reporting seeing lots of sign and incredible amount of track(being made at night), quite a few does, with most now unattended, but the big bucks are being elusive. Most buck sightings are from afar, when the bucks are bedded down. Seemed to be more action with the whitetails at the end of the season, but crucnchy snow made stalking next to impossible, best chance was during low light, when the bucks strayed from cover. All that's really left open now is the plentiful Coyotes and rabbits.

Tunkwa area received a good dumping of snow on Monday, it arrived quickly and added up in a short order. Temps are more seasonable, and hitting the minus 'teens' at night. The fresh, soft snow is making it great to see fresh track, unfortunately much of the track is being made at night, a bright moon, clear skies and snow, are making the nights incredible bright, and the deer are taking advantage of it. Hunting pressure is very light right now. There were nice whitetail bucks shot on Sunday and Monday. Guest, Brad K's bull moose taken during the Nov. LEH Tunkwa December whitetail.

Earlier in the week, we we're still seeing large numbers of animals active throughout the day, but with each day passing, less are being seen, especially mid-day. Still seeing some smaller bucks hanging around the does. A 4pt muley, I saw taken late in the week, neck was less swollen and had not much fat left on him, indicating he was just about done rutting. White-tails still seem to be active, with buck sitings still coming in mid day. I bumped into 2 very impressive white-tail bucks the afternoon of the last report, but have not been back chasing them since. Weather has been unseasonably mild up here lately, most days above freezing, and nightimes, just dipping below the freezing point. Very little snow is left down low, and the moist conditions are ideal for silent stalking in the bush. There's still 6 or 7" of snow up higher, but not enought to push or keep the animals down lower. Guests filled there LEH doe draw this morning, and reports of increased activity today was mentioned by many of the guests out in the field. Remember our deer season is open until Dec.10th for any-buck white-tails and 4pt or better muley bucks.
